Welcome to May's edition of the NZ Art Guild Newsletter.

Congratulations!

Congratulations to Stan Blanch who has been accepted to study an Advanced Diploma Course, working with the Peter Adsetts programme. A limited number of places exist on this course & there is lots of competition to get in. So well done Stan. We look forward to seeing some of the work you produce.

Teresa Rodger has recently got involved in a collective project opening a new gallery in Tirau. Artwork involved includes paintings, photography and pottery.To keep things fresh and exciting, different invited guests are showcasing their work at different times throughout the duration of the gallery. Congratulations on this exciting new venture!

Francesca Gallo had an article published in Gallery 36 magazine. The feature was about emerging NZ artists and photographers which Francesca was selected as one of those artists. The An awesome achievement! To read the article click here 

Also, Congratulations to Angela Laby who has had 10 artworks contracted to Harvey Norman, Marimba Powley and Michelle Wallis with all the promotion and sell out exhibition of their new Undy Four Hundy gallery, Rachel Inch for being voted onto the Canterbury Art Boards and Sharlene Schmidt in the sale of her artwork in the Legato Italy Exhibition.

Featured Artist

Anything Goes Exhibition
This month the NZ Art Guild had its Annual North Island Members exhibtion "Anything Goes" at the Bruce Mason Centre in Auckland.

Howick RSA Wine, Cheese and Art Evening - June 16th
On June 16th the Howick RSA in Auckland is holding a wine and cheese evening which NZ Art Guild members will be showcasing some of their work. Non RSA members are welcome to come alone to the evening which is tickets are only $6 for singles or $10 for couples. This is be a great evening so attend so dont miss out! This Months Art Challenges

Every fortnight a challenge is issued to our guild members and also to members of our facebook group. These challenges are completely voluntary. Submissions must be original and be completed during the 2-week time frame. Participants may choose to interpret the theme in any way they wish. To view all entries for each challenge click here 

The theme for this challenge was a create an artwork inspired by the work of Pablo Picasso.

Use the following reference image to create an original artwork in any media you choose. Your creation may be a direct and literal representation of the reference image or be inspired by parts of it, be as creative as you would like!
