History of the NZ Art Guild

The NZ Art Guild was initially formed in 2004 when a group of like-minded artists agreed it was long overdue to have a supportive community for New Zealand artists which also promoted the high quality of original New Zealand artwork. Not only was such a community lacking, but there needed to be one that suited today's modern, fast-paced and technological society.  With artists so geographically spread throughout New Zealand, an online community was the perfect way they could unite in their love of art.

What initially started out primarily as a support network for kiwi artists has grown into  a nationwide  organisation that actively encourages, promotes and provides opportunities and resources for artists at all stages of their careers. The NZ Art Guild now also provides opportunities for the whole community to see numerous different artworks at various events as well as offering a complete art management service for the corporate environment.

Mission statement

The NZ Art Guild aims to promote, encourage, support and lift profiles of NZ artists.

Vision Statement

The NZ Art Guild fosters individual personal growth by providing members with many opportunities for promotion by participating in exhibitions, events and activities: both within the NZ Art Guild and the wider New Zealand art community.

The NZ Art Guild strives to provide a strong, supportive on-line community for New Zealand artists of all skill levels. Its aim is to provide an environment where members can share information and experiences by contributing to an ever expanding knowledge pool, and offer encouragement and companionship to one another.

The NZ Art Guild aims to support New Zealand Art by portraying the high quality, the diverse face, and the beauty of it and taking it out into the wider community for everyone to benefit from.
