ARTWORK DESCRIPTION:
Set of 6 bone painted Maori designs, boardered with hand painted gold brush script with the name and meaning of each. Each reads as follows:
WHIRI ~ The infinite intertwining of friendship. Linking two lives for eternity...
KORU ~ Growth and harmony as life unfolds. A new life. A new beginning...
MATAU ~ Strength, Determination, Peace, & Prosperity...
MANAIA ~ Spiritual Guardian. Balancing sky, earth, and sea...
KOPAE ~ Our whole universe. Eternity, continuity, and togetherness...
HIKU ~ Courage, Speed, Success, & Confidence...
I chose this painting because to me it represents life, faith, and culture in NZ. I love the meanings of each symbol and find them inspirational and empowering so think it's very fitting for the charity auction.
