ARTIST PROFILE:
Marimba is a Southland based artist and mother of two young children. She is largely self taught and works predominantly in acrylics, dabbling in other mediums as the need arises. Marimba sees painting as a means to understand the world around her and often invites viewers to ponder a question together or view their surroundings from another angle.
She is currently involved in as series of works looking at the world through the eyes of children. Trying to capture their feelings and thoughts about how they see life as a generation and also as individuals. It is a process which is challenging and thought provoking and the journey is far from finished.
