ARTIST PROFILE:
Tanya is a self-taught artist and has always been artistic in nature. Her passion started as a hobby, while playing the part of the poor science student she used her talents to create gifts for friends and family. But it didn’t just stop there, the paintings became larger and more numerous. In 2004 she sold her first painting, and she hasn’t looked back.

Tanya loves to experiment with styles, texture and medium, although her preferred mediums are Gouache and Acrylics, which she uses to produce bold abstract pieces. Her earlier work is heavily influenced by her backgrounds in Zoology and Horticulture but her more recent pieces are far more abstract.

She is currently working on 2 main series; one of which is based on bright, bold colours, shapes and lines; the other is more self reflective, looking at her inner self and also the relationship that the paint has with the canvas.
