Valerie Leblanc has generously donated this stunning artwork which will be auctioned at 3:30pm at Willows Reach, 252 Boord Cres, Kumeu, Auckland. 50% of the proceeds will be donated to Kumeu Rotary for disbursement to West Auckland Hospice and Huapi Volunteer Fire Station. It’s an abstract interpretation of the sun rising on the sparkling Waitamata Habour. Those little female figures represented the morning energy fading away in the air with some South Pacific design symbolizing the ancestors travelling routes.
ARTIST PROFILE:
Valerie LEBLANC, a New Zealander born in Paris.
She had her first exhibition at 17 years old, shared with Paris most trendy artistes where she appeared as a “future talent”. She then worked as a Designer for Advertising agencies, in Paris.
After exploring the world for seven years, Valerie LEBLANC falls in love with New Zealand in 1991 and decides to settle down three years later. She had her first solo exhibition in 1998, which marked the beginning of multiple exhibitions in Auckland and Wellington and had sold numerous works throughout the North Island, as well as receiving many valuable private commissions. She’s been involved in the art teaching and worked full time as an Artist / Decorator specializing in Murals, Paint Effects, Colour Consulting & Trompe l’Oeil. She had, as well managed her own Art Gallery on Cuba St, in Wellington.
She merges her own sensibility with the observation of European and Pacific arts and produces a unique “brushed shine” style. Humanity and Nature are her main sources of inspiration.
The artwork is presented on a technically challenging variety of materials such as wood, glass and mirror and traditional canvas. She also creates unique Mosaics, glass and mirror paintings, and Backgammon boards on glass.
