ARTIST PROFILE:
Lawyer turned artist. Victoria Anderson is largely self-taught. She has exhibited extensively in community based galleries in Auckland. Her works are in private collections throughout New Zealand and in Victoria and Queensland Australia. She paints mostly in acrylics with some use of multi-media. Her works reflect her interactions with her physical, emotional and social environment. She expresses herself through stylised abstract and representational forms, sometimes in the same works. Recently Victoria has incorporated personal , physical memorabilia into her paintings.
Victoria is on the Board of Trustees and is a member of the Mairangi Arts Centre, North Shore. She paints part-time while caring for her youngest child who is seriously ill and cannot attend school except via correspondence.
