Tanya Dann describes herself as a multi-media artist, working with a variety of different media and disciplines. In particular Painting, Textiles, Photography, Digital Art and Ceramics; she has also dabbled in Sculpture, Printmaking and Jewellery.

Her recent works can be divided into 5 main categories:

Paintings: Bright, bold, acrylic abstracts are Tanya's signature pieces, designed to brighten any space and make a real statement.

Textile Creations: The main focus of these pieces is to move art off the walls and make it interactive, with a range of "Bearish Things" (bear-like creatures) and a series of handbags created from recycled ties.

Photographic Prints: Inspired by nature, these predominantly feature flowers, seascapes and landscapes. 

Portraits: Graphite portraits of people from photographs, A3 or A4 size - done via commission only.

Jewellery and glassware: Bright funky pieces, great for gifts or as a treat for yourself.

Tanya lives in Dunedin and is the Administration Assistant for the NZ Art Guild. She has a varied background in zoology, horticulture and hospitality. In 2007 she completed a Certificate in Creative Studies, and attended Art School in Dunedin in 2008 before returning to her scientific roots and beginning her Masters Degree in Forensic Textiles at Otago University (which is due to be completed mid 2011).
